Captain Casey's Fishing Report

Updated: Oct 24, 2019

This week, the big redfish were 27" - 28" long during low tide, in the morning, under the docks in Sarasota Bay using a small size 1 hook, 30 lb leader and a large live shrimp. The snook and flounder were caught on live white bait that we caught through the cast net, we found these fish in New Pass, Big Pass, and at the docks in the bay. This was mid day with an out going tide. We found bait along the beaches, in the shallow sandbars, and grass flats close to New Pass and Big Pass. Look for the birds diving and you will find bait.
